Mark's Core Beliefs:
I believe players who are fundamentally sound will play the game for life and be more successful over the long term. All players inherently want to keep the ball. All players are capable of playing the game in an attractive possession style, they simply need to be trained and encouraged to play that way. Players should receive honest feedback at all times- even if that means a player will not like what I have to say. When a player receives an honest compliment it means so much more.
I believe a player with burning desire to succeed can achieve more than player with god given talent that lacks desire. Players who play the game to chase college scholarships or professional contracts are playing for the wrong reasons. I believe in placing value on the process of getting better every day as opposed to the outcome. If you don't love the game, at some point you will stop playing, and ultimately all of your coaches have failed. When you leave a training session you should feel physical and mental fatigue. When training is over you should not feel "relief" but rather "disbelief" it went so fast. I believe most importantly, when you leave training you should look forward to coming back.
